Here are a few very easy ways (in no particular order) you can contribute to our school:
- send in Box Tops
- volunteer in the classroom
- write a thank you note to a teacher
- participate on a PTA committee
- link you PLUS account at Fresh Market to H. Guy Child
- read to your child

In True Olympic Fashion: Charger Academic Olympics
  We have shared some wonderful times celebrating the 2014 Winter Olympics!  In true Olympic fashion we had an amazing Opening Ceremony on February 7th and a Closing Ceremony on February 21st, complete with country and flag presentations, movie, and musical performances. Thank you to Dari Moyes, Scarlett Kluge, our amazing student choir, Annie DeGroot, and Jaycee Dunyon for sharing your talents!   Families enjoyed ice skating at the Ogden Ice Sheet on February 10th and for one week students solicited sponsorships and donations for our PTA.  All of the proceeds will help us fix our broken playground, provide emergency ... read full article

Going for Gold!
Going for Gold! Our wonderful Charger Academic Olympics Opening Ceremony was held Friday, February, 7th.   It was AWESOME!    We loved the class flags and countries!  The movie was over-the-top!  The National Anthem was beautiful! The skit was super fun! And we loved the choir!   It was great to be able to demonstrate how important academics are and that as Charger Olympians we need to practice and train for success in our school work and for success in life!  We can achieve and succeed! Charger Academic Olympics
  We are thrilled about our upcoming PTA Fundraiser!  Our goal is to promote academic excellence and raise $10,000 for our school.  We will reach our goal if each student raises just $20 in sponsorship money.  Charger Academic Olympics competitions will be held throughout the week February 18th - 21st.    OPENING CEREMONY: Friday, February 7th STUDENT FUNDRAISING:  February 7th - 14th                                         (All collection envelopes due Valentine's!) "Creative Hands" Mural Project
This article is featured on Weber School District's homepage: wsd.net With the help of gifted artist  Kathy Wilson , our students (all 500) have been participating in our "Creative Hand s" Mural Project. Beginning in September 2013, Kathy has visited individual classes and has worked with students in creating and now painting a school mural.  For us, our students needed an opportunity to learn the value of expressing themselves in constructive, creative ways and to learn cooperation, problem solving and gain a sense of community  and self worth through art expression.     Our PTA’s goal was to implement a project ... read full article

Author Visit November 18 - Gary Hogg

Reflections Awards Assemblies
We were so excited with the number of entries in this year's Relections Contest, "Dream, Believe, Inspire!"   We will be having a small awards assembly, for each individual grade, on Friday afternoon, November 15th.  Parents are invited to the awards assemblies for their children who entered.  Children will be able to take their artwork home following the assembly, unless they have won 1st or 2nd place and are moving on to the district level contest. A Note on Busing
We would like to remind parents and students of Weber School District's policy on busing.   BUSING:   Weber School District has the responsibility to transport bus students to and from school to their assigned bus stops.  Drivers are not authorized to allow children to change buses or stop at unassigned spots for any reason.   Students not on the regular passenger list are not permitted to ride the bus. Students may only ride on their assigned bus and get off at their assigned stop.    Students are under the authority of the bus driver at all times.  Passengers are expected to be courteous to the driver and ... read full article

Spotlight: Mrs. Parker
Mrs. Parker 1st Grade Teacher Charles Dickens once said, “What an immense impression Paris made upon me. It is the most extraordinary place in the world!” The City of Light made quite an impression on Mrs. Parker as well. She hopes to return there someday—next time for more than three days!
